Review: Full Package by Lauren Blakely

Full Package

Full Package by Lauren Blakely

From the New York Times Bestselling author of MISTER O and BIG ROCK, comes a hot & hilarious new standalone romantic comedy…

I’ve been told I have quite a gift.

Hey, I don’t just mean in my pants. I’ve got a big brain too, and a huge heart of gold. And I like to use all my gifts to the fullest, the package included. Life is smooth sailing....

Until I find myself stuck between a rock and a sexy roommate, which makes for one very hard…place.

Because scoring an apartment in this city is harder than finding true love. So even if I have to shack up with my buddy’s smoking hot and incredibly amazing little sister, a man’s got to do what a man’s got to do.

I can resist Josie. I’m disciplined, I’m focused, and I keep my hands to myself, even in the mere five-hundred square feet we share. Until the one night she insists on sliding under the covers with me. It’ll help her sleep after what happened that day, she says.

Spoiler—neither one of us sleeps.

Did I mention she’s also one of my best friends? That she’s brilliant, beautiful and a total firecracker? Guess that makes her the full package too.

What’s a man stuck in a hard place to do?

Caroline's Review ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

I love reading male POV and this author has got it down pat. I swear she must have been a dude in a former life. LOL.

“Josie Hammer turns me on, and that’s a big fucking problem.”

Chase is flat-hunting and not having much luck. His best friend, Josie, is looking for a new roommate and not having much luck. A lightbulb moment has Chase moving into Josie’s flat.

They’ve known one another for ten years. They met through his best friend and her brother, Wyatt, and have always hit it off. However, that doesn’t mean he doesn’t find her attractive.

“I want to be the one who turns her inside out with pleasure. I want to be the man she wants fiercely. I’m dying to be the one she gets off to.”

Once they’re in close quarters, their attraction fairly sizzles off the page, as their conversations become more suggestive, and being around Josie brings Chase close to breaking point. Chase is the king of compartmentalisation, so when Josie decides to compartmentalise their friends-with-benefits relationship and puts an expiration date on it, he has no choice but to follow her lead…even though he’s falling in love with his best friend.

This story was fun and adorable, and really funny. Chase and Josie have such a great dynamic and I loved their dialogues and exchanges. I actually really liked Chase’s slightly angsty internal monologue – it was interesting to see a guy feeling vulnerable and unsure, and certain that his love was unrequited. Another fun thing was getting insight into Josie’s thinking through the unique way the author portrayed it.

And have I mentioned that the author writes good sex! The pages were smokin’!! Their chemistry was amazing!

Fabulous read and thoroughly recommend!
