Sexy Jerk by Kim Karr
My best friend is married.
Everyone I know is married. It doesn’t bother me. I like my life the way it is.
Since I’m single though, when my best friend and her husband finally decide to go on their dream honeymoon, she asks me to watch their three-year-old son.
Of course I say yes.
What my best friend neglects to tell me is that I won’t be babysitting alone.
Feeling Max might be too much for me to handle, her husband asks his only single friend to help.
Nick Carrington and I have met a couple of dozen times. I’ve never really given him a second thought—other than to say he’s kind of a jerk. Out loud. So he can hear. Sure, he’s tall, dark, and handsome. And yes, he has the best ass I’ve ever seen, and I mean ever seen quite literally. You see he mooned me at last year’s Fourth of July barbecue because, like I said, he’s a jerk.
He always has to be the life of the party.
He’s also arrogant.
Imposing.
Rich.
And a playboy.
I’d even go as far as to say he’s a manwhore.
Yet somehow before I know it, this manwhore and I are co-parenting. Living under the same roof. Eating meals together and yes, talking.
Don’t look at me like that—it’s not like I had a choice. Even though I knew every minute would be hell, I had to say yes.
But after two weeks what I didn’t expect to discover is that I’d been wrong about him.
That under his smart-ass exterior, he’s quite charming.
That his arrogance is really confidence.
And that the sight of his naked body would do really bad things to me.
So yes, I’d misjudged him. And yes, I like him. Really like him. Although I might still think he’s a jerk…I now think he’s a sexy jerk.
And I want more of him.
The question is—does he want more of me?

This was a gorgeous story!
“There’s something about her. A reason I’ve gone out of my way to get her attention every time we’ve been in the same room.”
Tess Winters is recovering from a broken relationship and trying to get her life back on track by opening a new café. In the meantime, as a favour for her best friend, Fiona, she’s agreed to babysit her son for two weeks. What she doesn’t realise is that her friend’s husband, Ethan, has also asked his best friend to help out, too.
“I’m co-sitting with a man I thought I hated, and turns out, I might kind of like him. And he might just kind of like me too.”
Nick Carrington is a jerk. Ever since Tess met him at Fiona and Ethan’s engagement party, and every meeting since then, he’s come across as an arrogant, womanising jerk. So what if he’s sexy as sin. Nick thinks that Tess is stuck-up and snobby and he loves pushing her buttons. He also can’t ignore the fact that she’s hot as hell.
“Our first kiss is with the both of us completely naked. Completely open to each other. Vulnerable. And both more than ready to be together.”
Two weeks living in the same house, looking after their godson, opens their eyes to the other’s true nature. Everything she thought to be true about Nick is really not quite how it seems. And, Nick finds his defences crumbling around Tess and he finds himself bending his rules for her. But, what happens when their two weeks are over?
“She sparkles and shines and lights my world up. She’s the one I want. The one I need.”
This was a great, humorous, heartwarming story. I loved Tess and Nick together. The banter, the chemistry, the sexy times! Tess is smart-mouthed, sassy, and honest. Nick is a little bit alpha, thoughtful and so hot!! It made my heart melt that he didn’t shy away from his feelings and that he was keen to see where their budding relationship went. I loved that even though Tess had been so burnt by her previous relationship, she was also honest with herself about her feelings and willing to take a chance on Nick. I loved how into each other they were, how intoxicated by each other they became. What they felt was all-consuming. *sighs*
This was a such a fun, at times moving, story. It was eminently readable and I thoroughly enjoyed it!
