Blurb

He was an artist. She was his muse.

To everyone in town, Abel Adams was the devil's spawn, a boy who never should have been born. A monster.

To twelve year-old Evie Hart, he was just a boy with golden hair, soft t-shirts and a camera. A boy who loved taking her picture and sneaking her chocolates before dinner. A boy who made her feel special.

Despite her family's warnings, she loved him in secret for six years. They met in empty classrooms and kissed in darkened church closets. Until they couldn't.

Until the time came to choose between love and family, and Evie chose Abel.

Because their love was worth the risk. Their love was the stuff of legend.

But the thing about legends is that they are cautionary tales. They are made of choices and mistakes. And for Abel and Evie, the artist and the muse, those mistakes come in the form of lights, camera, sex.

NOTE: This is NOT a paranormal or a priest romance.

Top Read 2018

5 BIG-BANG STARS! Oh, wow! This book!

I could tell this story was going to be amazing right from the start and I only put it down when I absolutely had to.

"The weird phenomenon that happens when we're around each other has only grown. It's like our senses are fused."

Evie is twelve when we first meet her. She's an only child and comes from a good family. She adores her father and loves her God-fearing mother, even though their relationship is not perfect. She's a good girl and follows the rules. When she sees Abel for the first time, her safe little world tilts.

"I want you in my life and if I have to sell everything I own, even my soul, I'll do it."

Abel is fourteen when he moves in next door to Evie. His life is dogged by a scandalous legend, so the town is not so accepting of his presence. He's a pariah - painted a monster. From the moment he sees Evie, he can't take his eyes off her. Their friendship will change their lives.

"We'll be our own gods. You be mine and I'll be yours."

This story really gripped me. As Evie is so young when the story begins, she very innocent. She's sweet, passionate about her writing, soft-hearted, loyal and forgiving. She was so fascinated by Abel - partly because of his history, and partly because of who he was a person. I loved how much she wanted to support and protect him but was thwarted by public opinion and censure. I loved her bravery when she chose him over her parents - how much she believed in him and her love for him.

Abel is intense, broody, and mature. As a teenager, he was also patient, biding his time, waiting for Evie to grow up. I loved the way he teased her and how protective he was of her. She lit up his life and gave him a reason for living. Their love was so fierce and passionate that I kept waiting for their bubble to burst.

"Abel and Evie. The artist and the muse. A boy and a girl in love. With dreams in their eyes, and the whole universe in their hearts."

I was rooting all the way for Abel and Evie. I loved their rapport, their connection, their chemistry. They had great banter and their sex scenes were HAWT! When their love was tested, my heart ached for them.

This novel was so many things. It was about human nature, belief, trust, pain, prejudice, power, control, obsession and, most of all, love. A love that is innocent and then sexual but always all-consuming. A love that destroys but also one that is healing. I was hooked on how powerful and abiding their love was for each other, and what they were willing to do to for it.

Most definitely a Top Read 2018!

Author Bio

Writer of bad romances. Aspiring Lana Del Rey of the Book World.

Saffron is a big believer in love (obviously). She believes in happily ever after, the butterflies and the tingling. But she also believes in edgy, rough and gutsy kind of love. She believes in pushing the boundaries, darker (sometimes morally ambiguous) emotions and imperfections.

The kind of love she writes about is flawed just like her characters. And she hopes by the end of it, you’ll come to root for them just as much as she does. Because love, no matter where it comes from, is always pure and beautiful.

She is represented by Meire Dias of Bookcase Agency
