REVIEW: Spark by S L Scott

One break is all The Crow Brothers need and we’re about to get it.

Johnny Outlaw, rock legend and lead singer of The Resistance, is here to watch us play. But he’s not the only familiar face in the crowd—killer little body, heart-shaped face, and drop-dead gorgeous.

Hannah Nichols sitting at the bar makes it hard to concentrate, sparks already reigniting. The beauty was never a groupie and tonight she’s not here to catch our show. She came to drop a bomb. “You have a son.”

She underestimated me. I’ll prove to my son, and her, that I can be the dad he needs.

What is it about musicians? Why are they so damn sexy?

My heart was Jet Crow’s the moment he opened his sexy mouth and sang that first song. One stolen night with that man would never be enough, but I’m not here to fall into his bed. Again. I’m here to fight for custody of a son he’s never known.

There’s just one problem. Those sparks between us have become flames. If we’re not careful we’re both going to get burned.

What a fab start to a new series!

"He's a musical god I once prayed to by tasting his skin as he came on mine."

Hannah Nichols lets loose one fine night with the singer of a band. They formed a connection that night but she wasn't in a good place to start a relationship.

"The girl with the haunted eyes? I want to erase the sadness. I want to replace her melancholy with other emotions."

Jet Crow formed a deep connection with Hannah during their one night together. He couldn't stop thinking about her. When she comes back into his life six months later, she brings shocking news with her.

They stand on opposites sides of a custody battle, but their burgeoning feelings blur the line.

"She was buried in every riff of my guitar, the notes that made the melody, the cheering of the crowd."

I loved this story! Jet is such a wonderful guy - a great father figure to his brothers and a great father to the son he never knew he had. He had a great sense of responsibility and I loved how well he stepped up to the plate to do whatever he needed to do to make sure his son was happy and knew that he was wanted.

Hannah's fears, insecurities, and family loyalties prevent her moving forward with what her heart tells her. I loved how much Jet wanted to show her that they were a possibility, and how well he proved that he was willing to put Alfie and Hannah first.

I loved the Crow family dynamics. Little Alfie stole my heart - he was so mature for his age and such a fabulous little kid! I'm so looking forward to reading about Rivers and Tulsa.

As always, this author delivers a fab story with feeling and beauty, which is heartwarming and sexy.
