Review: Fake Fiancée by Ilsa Madden-Mills

Fake Fiancée

Fake Fiancée by Ilsa Madden-Mills

A new standalone romance from Wall Street Journal Bestselling Author Ilsa Madden-Mills...

They say nothing compares to your first kiss,
But our first kiss was orchestrated for an audience.
Our second kiss…that one was REAL.
He cradled my face like he was terrified he’d f*ck it up.
He stared into my eyes until the air buzzed.
Soft and slow, full of sighs and little laughs,
He inhaled me like I was the finest Belgian chocolate,
And he'd never get another piece.
A nip of his teeth, his hand at my waist...
And I was lost.
I forgot he was paying me to be his fake fiancée.
I forgot we weren’t REAL.
Our kiss was pure magic, and before you laugh and say those kinds of kisses don’t exist…
Then you’ve never touched lips with Max Kent, the hottest quarterback in college history.

Get ready for breathtaking kisses, dreamy football players, a heroine who yearns for the guy she can't have, and a hero who will do anything for the girl he loves...

Caroline's Review ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

"No one crosses our path without a reason"

I thought that this story was a classic and fabulous NA read.

“I couldn’t explain how achingly familiar she was. Sometimes, you just knew when someone was good, and my gut sensed we had affinity. I liked her.”

Max is the star college QB and is on the cusp of football stardom. He tries to keep his nose clean because nothing matters more than his future career, so when his stunning new neighbour comes knocking on his door, threatening to call the police, he has no choice but to open it. And, experiences an undeniable feeling of recognition and a startling connection to her. However, he’s not interested in a relationship after being burnt by his last girlfriend.

“Don’t. Fall. For. The. Quarterback.”

Sunny has risen above her troubled childhood and become a confident young woman. When she meets her new neighbour, for the first time, she feels an overwhelming sizzle of attraction between them. Unfortunately, she’s not interested in risking her heart on another athlete, after her last athlete boyfriend cheated on her, so she tries to keep her distance. However, when Max offers to compensate Sunny generously in exchange for being his fake girlfriend, to keep the women away and for the sake of his image, it’s a proposition she can’t afford to refuse.

“I’ll kiss you so good, you won’t be able to kiss another guy for an entire year without thinking about me.”

What starts off as an easy enough gig turns into something much more complicated and involved, as they get to know each other better, and their mutual trust and sexual attraction grows.

I LOVED this story. It had a bit of mystery, and it was angsty and sexy, full of chemistry, heavy flirtation, and a bit of jealousy. It made me smile and gave me butterflies in my tummy, and I just adored the connection between the main characters. Thoroughly recommend!
