Next.” “Two, connected to the first, you hooked up with her sister, best friend or mother . . .” He snorts at that one, chuckling under his breath as he shakes his head again. “Right, then, the last three,” I continue. “Three through five are offending her family/job/friends or outfit, asking her to pay for your date and lastly, giving her an STD.” His eyes grow wide and he sits bolt upright. This is the fourth book in a series, but can be read as a standalone.

Thomas Caldwell makes a massive vow after catching an STD off one of his numerous sexual conquests. After the unsavoury experience of informing all his recent partners about the STD, he focuses on other aspects of his life, content to wait until he meets The One.

Amy has crushed on Thomas for years. He frequents the club where she works, but she’s seen him in action and certainly doesn’t want to be another notch on his bedpost. A one-night stand with a co-worker leaves her pregnant and alone, although she has a fabulous circle of friends, a great boss, and the support of her father and his wife.

Thomas and Amy are acquaintances-nearly-friends by virtue of the fact that they share mutual friends. However, when they share a life-changing experience together in the local grocery store, the result is a firm, unbreakable bond, which flourishes into something beautiful and wholly unexpected.

This was a gorgeous story! It was slow burn and heart-melting. I adored Thomas. He was patient, giving, thoughtful, and such a solid, dependable guy. I loved how much he enjoyed being there for Amy; being her rock to lean on. Amy just couldn’t quite believe that Thomas was in her life in such an intimate but comfortable way – especially given the circumstances. I loved how their relationship grew – the respect they had for one another, and how much of a family they became. I also adored their friends – their banter, their connection, and their dependability.

This was a fab read and the conclusion was perfect!
