Review: Fighting for Love by Kelly Elliott

Fighting for Love (Boston Love, #2)

Fighting for Love (Boston Love #2) by Kelly Elliott

A larger-than-life firefighter inspires a career-driven woman to live in the moment—and trust in the power of love—in this flirty, emotional novel from the New York Times bestselling author of Searching for Harmony.

Finn Ward has two passions: being a firefighter and being single. Although his parents are constantly nagging him to settle down, Finn just wants to enjoy himself while he’s young. Then, at a union meeting, he meets a gorgeous lawyer with a dazzling smile—and suddenly, settling down doesn’t sound so bad.

Rory Adams is fresh out of law school and looking to make a name for herself at her mother’s firm. She doesn’t have time for silly games anymore. But when she catches the eye of a dashing fireman who makes her body tingle from across the room, something instantly ignites between them. The only problem? Her father is Finn’s boss.

Their relationship turns both of their lives upside-down. Rory tames Finn’s wild ways, while he shows her that life can’t be all work and no play. But it’ll take some serious determination to keep their love secret—and real courage to admit the truth.

Julie's Review ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Whenever I pick up a Kelly Elliott book, I know I'm going to have every kind of emotion play out, whilst reading her words.

I absolutely loved this, seeing Rory and Finn navigate their way through a torrent of emotions, their love grabs you immediately, and insta kind of love.

We always get a plethora of fine characters in a Kelly Elliott book, and Fighting for Love is no exception.

Rory, a sweet and very naive lady, who comes over as innocent, but her thoughts about Finn were anything but innocent.

I enjoyed getting to know Rory and Finn, delving into their past - how their families were connected way back when..

Finn's family are lovely, his brothers even though they fight and bicker, as brothers do, they are also first in line when they are needed as is their baby sister.

Finn, sexy as hell firefighter, as was his papa and brother who likes the ladies, and doesn't hide it, I just loved Finn's interaction with the dog - hilarious. Finn's close friends were also there for him, too.

Rory's parents weren't as friendly and warm as Finn's were and when push came to shove, I was Rory's biggest cheerleader. I hated that she felt she had nowhere to turn with the horrid ultimatum.

They had a great relationship. Finn grew up during their early courtship, Rory also grew up.

I loved how fiercesome Rory was when she thought she was onto something with work, following her Mother's dreams as a lawyer, it's not nice to have to keep proving your worth within a company just because you are related to the boss.

This is a great love story, about fighting for what you believe in, holding onto your own dreams, making lots of first memories, being a strong couple, to work through the ups and downs. Love is not an easy ride, it takes work, trust and commitment.

Great heartwarming, heart wrenching sweet story.
